Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of cooked lentils
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 400ml can of low sodium tomato puree
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ¾ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 wholemeal buns
  • Sliced veggies (avocado, cucumber, capsicum)
  • Yogurt and mint (optional)

How to make it:

  1. Chop onions.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Saute onions and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add lentils and spices and cook until fragrant.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients (minus veggies) and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally until thick.
  5. Allow the burgers to cool for 10 minutes and serve on wholemeal buns with sliced veggies and yogurt with mint for extra yumminess.
